Much like the name of our business, our cupolas are like beautiful, bronze crowns perched on top of a roof. Cupolas are a unique way of adding charm to your home, shed, or barn that will last a lifetime. The issue many people run into when considering adding a cupola is the question of “what cupola dimensions are right for my building?”
A good rule of thumb that we like to follow at Royal Crowne is to use 1.25 in. of cupola for every foot of unbroken roof. So, for example, if your roofline is 24 ft. long, your cupola would be 30 in. Some exceptions to this rule do exist.
If you have a longer building more than 48 ft. long, we suggest adding multiple cupolas to break up the space. One large cupola could potentially look clunky and out of place. Adding two separate cupolas is an option, but if you desire having only one cupola, we can make that happen.
Another option of adding an extended base exists as well. If your roof is steeper than most, an extended base will allow for the cupola to be sturdy and fit perfectly. If an extended base is needed, Royal Crowne can custom fit a cupola to your liking.
At Royal Crowne, we want you to love your cupola. That is why we have many options regarding size, color, ventilation, and light. If you are still on the fence about what cupola you should purchase with us, head over to
